US Invites Russian President Putin to Join Gaza Peace Council

Moscow: The United States has formally invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in a proposed Gaza Peace Council, the Kremlin confirmed. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is reviewing the details of the invitation received through diplomatic channels.

He added that President Putin is considering the proposal seriously and that Russia will seek further clarification from US officials before making a decision. Earlier, Kazakhstan also confirmed receiving a similar invitation, with reports indicating it may be among the founding members of the council.

According to diplomatic sources, several other world leaders have also been approached. The proposed council is expected to begin work during the second phase of the Gaza peace framework agreed in October 2025, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey. The initiative aims to promote ceasefire enforcement, humanitarian aid and long-term stability in Gaza.
