Karachi : RK Sports Management has announced the launch of the “First Women’s Sports Awards” to recognize and honor female athletes who have shown outstanding performance across various sports. The awards will be presented at a grand ceremony scheduled for April 2026.
A dedicated committee has been formed to oversee the awards preparations and the selection of the athletes. Commodore (R) Sadeed A. Malik will serve as the patron-in-chief, while the committee members include Atif Iqbal (Chairman RK Sports Management), Irum Fawad (Vice Chairperson), Rais Khan (Founder & President), Haji Liaquat Sheikh, Haji Akbar Sheikh, Xenab Ansari, Qurat-ul-Ain, Anita Nasir Khan, Shamsa Jabeen, Anita Jadoon an
d Aisha Hunani.
Speaking on the occasion, Atif Iqbal said that RK Sports Management has now taken a significant step beyond organizing sporting events to also recognize and encourage athletes’ achievements. He emphasized that the awards aim to acknowledge the contributions of female athletes, who represent 50 percent of the nation’s population, in every field. “Our women athletes are excelling in all competitions, and the ‘First Women’s Sports Awards’ will serve as a guiding light for future generations,” he added.
Commodore (R) Sadeed A. Malik remarked that RK Sports Management has been playing a pivotal role in promoting sports in the country, and these awards will encourage more women to actively participate in sporting activities.
Irum Fawad described the awards as a milestone initiative, stating that since the establishment of RK Sports Management, various steps have been taken to promote sports, and now this announcement marks a unique effort specifically for women athletes, which has received widespread appreciation.
Rais Khan, Founder and President, explained that the selection committee will evaluate the performance of female athletes across different sports and present the awards strictly on merit. He added that preparations for the awards ceremony are underway, and the athletes will be honored at a grand event in April
