QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reiterated that good governance is the foremost priority of his administration, underscoring that all public-focused development projects must be completed within their designated timelines without compromise.
Speaking at a high-level review meeting assessing the six-month performance of provincial departments and ongoing development schemes, CM Bugti was joined by Provincial Minister Rahila Hameed Durrani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and secretaries of key provincial departments.
During the session, officials briefed the Chief Minister on departmental performance and project progress. CM Bugti directed all departments to maintain full staff attendance and take complete ownership of their development initiatives. He also instructed the establishment of effective mechanisms to ensure swift redressal of public complaints.
Highlighting transparency and accountability, the Chief Minister ordered the Law Department to submit a draft of the provincial contract policy within two weeks. He further instructed the Education Department to enforce 100 percent merit-based contractual recruitment and to lodge FIRs against individuals found holding fake degrees.
CM Bugti was updated on the six-monthly Khuli Kacheries (open courts) conducted across the province. He directed that summaries relating to public interest be prioritized and ordered the complaint cell to be fully activated and widely publicized to ensure maximum outreach.
In recognition of outstanding performance, certificates of appreciation were presented to secretaries of the top 10 departments based on the six-month evaluation. Officials also briefed the Chief Minister on progress in ongoing development schemes.
CM Bugti issued a firm directive that all development projects showing no progress to date must be completed within the current financial year. He also instructed the Secretary Social Welfare to expedite measures for the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
The Chief Minister emphasized strict enforcement of building codes, warning that violations could lead to accidents and loss of lives. Reaffirming his government’s commitment, CM Bugti stressed that transparency, efficiency, and timely execution of development projects will remain central to the administration’s agenda, aimed at improving public services and strengthening governance throughout Balochistan.
