Bhimber, Jan 23, 2026: Member Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission Syed Nazir Hassan Gilani has said that all essential preparations for the upcoming AJK Legislative Assembly elections have been completed in line with constitutional requirements.
During a visit to the Bhimber Election Commission office, he reviewed electoral arrangements and directed officials to address logistical and administrative needs at district offices. He reiterated that the election staff would remain strictly neutral, warning of legal action against any political affiliation.
He said possession of a valid CNIC is mandatory for voting, adding that NADRA mobile registration teams are operating across seven districts at the union council level. The jurisdiction of 43 NADRA offices is also being expanded, while online registration through the NADRA mobile app is available.
The current assembly’s term ends in July 2026, with the election schedule to be issued 120 days in advance.
