Muzaffarabad, Jan 23: Several tourists have been trapped at Pir Chinasi after heavy snowfall blocked routes, triggering an emergency situation.
Sources say Azad Kashmir authorities currently lack helicopter rescue capability, while Rescue 1122 does not have snow-equipped vehicles, delaying ground operations.
A stranded tourist, Ubaid Farooq, reported that five people are stuck, two in critical condition due to oxygen shortage, fuel exhaustion and extreme cold. Contact has since been lost.
Families have appealed to the Pakistan Army for an immediate helicopter rescue to avert a possible human tragedy.
