Islamabad | Independent Report
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday sent lawyer Iman Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali to 14-day judicial custody in a case related to an altercation outside the Islamabad High Court.
The order was issued by ATC Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain after police failed to produce the First Information Report (FIR) despite seeking physical remand. The court rejected the remand request and ordered their transfer to jail.
Later, the accused were presented via video link before a district court, where Iman Mazari alleged mistreatment during police custody and announced a boycott of proceedings. The court sought relevant records regarding the incident.
Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali were arrested last year following a confrontation near the high court premises. Further hearings are expected in the coming days.
