Quetta: Provincial Minister for Health Bakht Muhammad Kakar has emphasized that ensuring timely and quality healthcare services in government hospitals across Balochistan is a top priority of the provincial government, warning that negligence in public health institutions will not be tolerated.
Speaking to various delegations, the health minister said that the Balochistan Health Department had initiated concrete steps to improve healthcare delivery, particularly in government hospitals. He stressed that providing health services at the doorstep of the people was central to the government’s policy.
Bakht Muhammad Kakar directed the relevant authorities to ensure the uninterrupted availability of medicines, proper functioning of medical equipment, and regular attendance of doctors and paramedical staff. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against officials and healthcare workers found guilty of negligence or inefficiency.
He said that special focus was being placed on revitalizing health centres in rural and remote areas to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for medical treatment. According to him, strengthening primary healthcare facilities would help ease pressure on major hospitals and improve overall service delivery.
The provincial health minister stated that the provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, was committed to improving the healthcare system and restoring public confidence in government medical institutions.
Public circles have welcomed the government’s measures and expressed hope that effective implementation of these initiatives would lead to tangible improvements in healthcare services across Balochistan.
