DAVOS: China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng has warned against power-based privileges in global governance, calling for fairness, equality and strict adherence to international rules.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, He said the world must not return to a “law of the jungle” where powerful countries dominate decision-making while weaker nations are sidelined. He stressed that global challenges such as economic instability, geopolitical tensions and climate change require cooperation and dialogue among all countries.
He said the international system could only remain stable and effective if rules were applied equally, without exemptions for any state. Reaffirming China’s position, He said Beijing would continue to support openness, cooperation and shared development, describing multilateralism as essential for global peace and long-term economic stability.
