Loralai, Jan 28: Additional Commissioner Loralai Division Ijaz Ahmed Jaffar has emphasized that polio eradication remains a top government priority, underscoring the need for meticulous planning, close coordination, and efficient field-level execution by all concerned departments.
A key meeting of the Divisional Task Force for the National Polio Immunization Drive (NID) February 2026 was convened at the Commissioner’s Office, chaired by AC Jaffar. The session reviewed comprehensive administrative, technical, and operational measures to ensure the campaign’s success.
Participants included Divisional Director Health Maqbool Ahmed, ADC Revenue Ismail Mengal, AC Bori Nadeem Akram, DHO Loralai Dr. Shah Zaman, CCO COMNET (UNICEF) Muhammad Hashim, STOP Officer Dr. Farhan, Dr. Asim Khan (DPO, WHO), PDA Izzatullah (WHO), and DEOC Focal Person Mukhtarullah. Divisional WHO Coordinator Dr. Zarak Khan joined virtually via Zoom to deliver a detailed presentation.
During the meeting, AC Jaffar stressed the importance of polio team security, effective micro-planning, full coverage, and parental awareness campaigns. Officials highlighted strategies to strengthen monitoring at the Union Council level, involve religious scholars and community leaders to address vaccine hesitancy, and enforce a zero-tolerance approach toward operational lapses.
All participants pledged to deploy every available resource to ensure the February 2026 polio campaign succeeds, aiming to protect children and future generations from the debilitating disease.
