Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Chris Elias, President of Global Development at the Gates Foundation, to discuss ongoing polio eradication efforts in Pakistan. The Prime Minister emphasized that collaboration with credible partners like the Gates Foundation would continue until polio is fully eliminated. He acknowledged the support of Muslim countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, in Pakistan’s immunization campaigns. Chris Elias praised Pakistan’s progress, highlighting enhanced environmental surveillance and improved access for vaccination teams. Both sides committed to sustained cooperation and practical measures to ensure nationwide polio eradication, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to global public health standards.
