Musakhel, January 30:
Deputy Commissioner Musakhel has launched a rigorous campaign against illegal and substandard medicines in the district, ordering surprise inspections of medical stores to protect public health and enforce strict compliance with drug regulations.
Assistant Commissioner Najeebullah Kakar, along with the District Health Officer and Drug Inspector, conducted inspections in Musakhel Bazaar targeting unethical practices and the circulation of smuggled medicines from India. During the operation, 13 medical stores were examined. Five outlets received stern warnings for unhygienic conditions and keeping expired stock, while six stores were immediately sealed for serious violations. The sealed establishments include Abdullah Pharmacy, Lareeb Medical Store, Shah Medical Store, Haroon Medical Store, Abdul Haleem Medical Store, and Dua Child Care.
Assistant Commissioner Kakar emphasized that public safety is a top priority, stressing that the sale of spurious or smuggled medicines poses a severe threat to human life. He reiterated that the district administration is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal activities, and all violators will face strict legal action.
Store owners were instructed to complete all registration requirements and adhere to proper hygiene and storage standards without delay. Local police have been tasked with close monitoring of sealed outlets to prevent further violations and ensure immediate enforcement measures where necessary.
