Karachi, January 30, 2026:
Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research & Development Board (BBSHRD) in Karachi to review ongoing skill development initiatives. She was welcomed by Board Chairman Tameezuddin Kheiro, Secretary Munawar Ali Mithani, and staff.
During the visit, Senator Khalid received a detailed briefing on BBSHRD’s programs and projects, highlighting training opportunities for BISP beneficiaries in various sectors. It was announced that over 5,000 individuals from BISP-supported households in Sindh have now registered for skill training, exceeding the previous target of 3,000.
Senator Khalid emphasized that skill development reflects the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and recalled her motto: “Skill is your capital.” She highlighted the growing global demand for skilled professionals and stressed the need to equip youth and women with training aligned with international standards.
Special attention was called to sectors like hospitality, healthcare, and residential services, offering extensive local and international employment opportunities. Senator Khalid also stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns and international certifications to enhance overseas employability.
The session was attended by BISP Sindh Director General Sanaullah Rand, Outreach Consultant Naveed Khan, and other officials. The meeting concluded with prayers for the late Benazir Bhutto’s high ranks in Jannah.
