Islamabad: The India Study Center at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) organized a seminar titled “Kashmir Solidarity Day: Renewing Commitment to the Right of Self-Determination”, reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic, legal, and humanitarian stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
Former Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Mushaal Hussein Mullick was the chief guest, while Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ambassador Tahir Andarabi attended as guest of honour. Other speakers included Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Dr Maria Saifuddin Effendi, Dr Khurram Abbas, and APHC leader Shamim Shawl.
Speakers highlighted the continued validity of UN Security Council resolutions, widespread human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and the denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The seminar stressed peaceful resolution through dialogue, international engagement, and renewed global attention.
The event concluded with prize distribution for winners of an essay competition on the Kashmir dispute.
