Lahore, Feb 9: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday met World Bank President Ajay Banga to review ongoing development projects and explore expanded cooperation in key sectors.
Discussions focused on health, education, climate resilience, digital governance, housing and sanitation initiatives, including Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar and Suthra Punjab programmes. Ajay Banga appreciated Punjab’s welfare-oriented reforms and assured continued World Bank support for inclusive and sustainable development.
The chief minister said health and education remain top priorities, highlighting investments in digital payments, e-procurement, irrigation upgrades and IT infrastructure. She underscored the importance of the Country Partnership Framework and the Connected Punjab Programme.
Both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthening institutional capacity, transparency and economic growth across the province.
