Chaman Administration Sets Official Ramadan Prices, Vows Strict Action Against Overpricing

CHAMAN, February 11, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Chaman, Habib Ahmed Bangulzai, has finalized official rates for essential commodities ahead of Ramadan, underscoring the administration’s commitment to protecting citizens from inflation and ensuring market stability during the holy month.
The District Price Control Committee meeting brought together representatives from the Central Traders and Shopkeepers Association, Hairdressers Union, Tailors Association, Tandoor Association, Butchers Union, Market Association, and Milk Sellers Association. Following detailed consultations on food and other essential items, the committee and traders reached a consensus on revised prices.
Tandoor owners raised concerns regarding the weight of bread (roti), which DC Bangulzai addressed, promising cooperative efforts to resolve the issue amicably. Both the administration and the trader community pledged close coordination to provide maximum relief to the public and maintain consistent pricing throughout Ramadan.
Speaking at the meeting, DC Bangulzai warned that strict action would be taken against any shopkeepers violating the official price list, compromising on quality, neglecting hygiene, or failing to adhere to government-mandated SOPs.
The session was also attended by District Police Officer Abdullah Imran Cheema, Assistant Commissioner Azizullah Kakar, Naib Tehsildar Ahmed, and political figure Asif Khan Achakzai.
These proactive measures reflect the district administration’s determination to ensure orderly markets, safeguard public interests, and maintain discipline during the sacred month of Ramadan.
