QUETTA, February 11, 2026: Director General of Public Relations Balochistan, Askar Khan, has vowed to reinforce ties between the provincial government and the media, emphasizing sustained efforts to address the challenges faced by news organizations.
Khan chaired a significant introductory meeting with newspaper editors, bringing together representatives from both regional and national publications, including Daily Jang, Century Express, Dunya, Intikhab, Balochistan News, Azadi, Balochistan Express, B-Balochistan Times, Zamana, and Independent.
The session centered on improving communication channels between the government and press, tackling professional hurdles, and fostering cooperative engagement. Editors highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue to ensure accurate, timely information reaches the public. Key points of discussion included activating the accreditation committee, enhancing coordination between departments and media outlets, and promoting collaboration on information dissemination.
DGPR Askar Khan affirmed that the government would take all necessary steps to strengthen its relationship with the press. He also accepted an invitation to visit the Quetta Press Club next week to engage directly with journalists, aiming to build mutual understanding and reinforce cooperative efforts.
