Lahore, February 14, 2026: The Virtual Center for Child Safety established at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) achieved another milestone by reuniting Abdul Samad with his family after 14 years.
According to officials, Abdul Samad went missing in 2012 at the age of four after arriving in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia and becoming separated from his parents. He was later found abandoned and handed over to the Child Protection Bureau Punjab by a concerned citizen.
The Safe City “Mera Pyara” team conducted a detailed interview and circulated his childhood photograph and video on social media platforms. The post eventually reached his father, who contacted authorities. After thorough verification of documents and evidence, Abdul Samad was formally reunited with his family.
The PSCA spokesperson said the “Mera Pyara” initiative uses artificial intelligence, facial recognition technology and social media outreach to trace missing children. The authority urged citizens to report missing persons by calling 15 and pressing 3, reaffirming its commitment to public safety through modern technology.
