Quetta, Feb : Election Commission of Pakistan has issued the schedule for the by-election in NA-256 Khuzdar, vacated following the resignation of Muhammad Akhtar Mengal.
According to the notification, the Returning Officer will publish the public notice on February 18, 2026. Nomination papers may be filed from February 20 to 24, while the preliminary list of candidates will be displayed on February 25. Scrutiny of nomination papers will conclude by March 4.
Appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer can be filed by March 9, with verdicts due by March 16. The revised list of candidates will be issued the same day. Withdrawal deadline and final candidate list will be published on March 17, and election symbols allotted on March 18.
Polling will take place on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
