Sahiwal, February 15, 2026 (Independent Report): Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, has approved the removal of a stagnant sewage pond and the construction of a public park at the same site for residents of Dispensary Road, Peoples Colony, and Ghausia Colony in Sahiwal.
Addressing a local ceremony, the minister said providing citizens with a clean, healthy, and pleasant environment remains a top government priority. He noted that residents had been facing serious difficulties due to the sewage pond, and immediate steps were taken to resolve the issue. The site will now be transformed into a recreational park for children and elderly citizens.
Residents welcomed the announcement, presented floral garlands, and expressed gratitude. A collective prayer was also offered for national progress and the development of Sahiwal.
Later, the minister inaugurated a restaurant on City Bypass Road. The administration stated that the facility will offer Arabic, Chinese, Pakistani, Turkish, and Continental cuisines. The minister said such ventures promote local employment and economic stability.
