Naseerabad, February 16: With the holy month underway, Naseerabad district authorities have taken proactive steps to ensure maximum relief for residents against rising prices of essential commodities.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Dera Murad Jamali, Bahadur Khan Khosa, bringing together representatives of trade associations, unions, and local business leaders. Notable participants included Chairman of the Citizens’ Action Committee Mir Muhammad Rahim Luhri, President of Anjuman Tajiran Taj Baloch, and minority community leaders Tara Chand Dasoo and Mal Mir Jan Mengal, along with heads of various unions.
The gathering focused on stabilizing prices of food items, strengthening market oversight, and establishing affordable markets for residents. Speaking at the session, AC Bahadur Khan Khosa stressed that providing tangible relief to the public during Ramadan is the administration’s top priority. He urged traders and union representatives to actively cooperate in curbing price hikes and hoarding, particularly for vegetables, meat, lentils, rice, and other essentials.
Following directives from Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad Captain (R) Zulfiqar Ali Karar, the administration plans to organize affordable bazaars at multiple locations where high-quality goods will be available at reasonable rates, offering genuine relief to citizens during the fasting month.
Traders assured full cooperation, pledging to respect the sanctity of Ramadan by discouraging profiteering and hoarding. AC Khosa made it clear that overpricing and artificial inflation would not be tolerated, warning that strict legal action would be taken against violators. Citizens were encouraged to report instances of exploitation via the district administration’s helpline at 0333-3726000 for immediate intervention.
The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to delivering coordinated, practical measures that ensure accessible, affordable essentials for all residents throughout Ramadan, reinforcing a collaborative approach between administration and community leaders.
