Independent Report
QUETTA, Feb 16: Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has advised consumers to strictly avoid construction beneath electricity poles and high-voltage transmission lines, warning that violations of mandatory safety clearances may result in fatal accidents, technical faults, and prolonged power disruptions.
The company emphasized that buildings, shops, or other structures near transmission lines pose serious risks to life and property. Citizens have been urged to report any illegal construction or hazardous locations to the nearest QESCO office.
Separately, QESCO announced scheduled power suspensions on Tuesday, Feb 17, due to development and maintenance works.
Electricity supply from several 11kV feeders of Sariab, Sheikh Manda, Quetta City, Industrial, Zarghoon, and Sohbatpur grid stations will remain suspended between 9:00am and 5:00pm in different phases.
The 220kV Industrial Grid feeders will also face outages from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
QESCO apologized for the inconvenience and sought public cooperation during the maintenance activity.
