Quetta, February 16: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, the district administration has launched an ambitious tree plantation campaign aimed at beautifying the city and promoting a cleaner, greener environment.
The high-level meeting saw participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakr, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Quetta Hafiz Muhammad Tariq, officials from the Forest Department, representatives of Rotary Club, and Quetta Online. During the session, it was decided that the plantation drive will be carried out extensively along major city roads, educational institutions, and other key public spaces.
Deputy Commissioner Badini emphasized that enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Quetta and maintaining a pollution-free, healthy environment remains a top priority for the district administration. He directed relevant authorities to ensure that the plantation drive is conducted in a well-organized and systematic manner, with proper care and maintenance of the newly planted trees.
The administration also called upon citizens, students, and social organizations to actively participate in the initiative and contribute to creating a lush, green, and sustainable urban environment. Officials highlighted that coordinated efforts among various departments are essential to maximize the impact and ensure the long-term success of the program.
This campaign reflects the government’s commitment to environmental conservation and civic engagement, aiming to transform Quetta into a model green city in the province.
