Quetta, February 16: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, a high-level Price Control Committee meeting was convened to ensure affordable essential commodities during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The session included participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakr, Assistant Commissioners of City, Saryab, and Kuchlak, along with magistrates from all four subdivisions.
During the meeting, decisive measures were approved to keep food prices stable and provide maximum relief to the public. The Deputy Commissioner issued strict orders emphasizing that profiteers and those selling essential items at inflated rates would face immediate legal action, including potential imprisonment. Authorities made it clear that no leniency will be shown to individuals engaging in overpricing.
DC Mehrullah Badini directed all administrative officers to ensure continuous and effective price control operations within their respective subdivisions, personally supervising field activities to guarantee compliance. The district administration stressed that safeguarding public welfare during Ramadan is a top priority, and relentless action against profiteering will continue throughout the holy month.
This proactive strategy aims to maintain market discipline, protect consumers, and ensure the residents of Quetta have access to essential goods at fair prices during Ramadan.
