Peshawar, February 17: Peshawar High Court has ordered the immediate reopening of all blocked roads and motorways across the province following a petition filed on the directions of Opposition Leader Dr. Ibadullah Khan.
For four consecutive days, major highways and motorways remained closed, causing significant hardship to patients, students, laborers and commuters. Public life and transport services were severely disrupted.
On Dr. Ibadullah Khan’s instructions, MPA Sobia Shahid approached the court seeking urgent relief. The court subsequently directed the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Secretary to immediately reopen all blocked routes and ensure strict compliance with its order.
Dr. Ibadullah Khan said the opposition could not remain silent while citizens suffered. He stated that reopening the roads was a public right and reaffirmed that ensuring public relief and upholding the rule of law would remain the opposition’s priority.
