Jaffarabad, February 18, 2026 – Deputy Commissioner Jaffarabad Khalid Khan highlighted that tree plantation is the most effective solution to mitigate the growing impacts of climate change. He stated that planting trees not only reduces environmental pollution but also protects against adverse climatic effects while ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment.
The remarks came during a tree-planting ceremony at the District Health Office Jaffarabad, attended by District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Mannan Lakhti and other officials and community leaders. Khalid Khan noted that extensive measures are being taken to expand tree-planting activities across the district, in line with the Government of Balochistan’s vision of promoting a green and thriving environment.
He emphasized that tree plantation will continue to be a priority at government institutions, educational facilities, and public spaces, urging every citizen to actively participate in this national campaign. He explained that trees play a vital role in purifying the environment, lowering temperatures, and reducing the effects of natural disasters, and stressed the need for collective responsibility to plant and care for as many trees as possible.
The Deputy Commissioner directed relevant departments to ensure that the plantation drive goes beyond a formal exercise, establishing proper systems for the protection and irrigation of planted saplings so they can grow into mature trees contributing to environmental improvement. He reaffirmed that the district administration will continue all efforts to make Jaffarabad greener, with the active support of the local community.
