Quetta, February 19 – Mir Shoaib Nosherwani has affirmed that the Balochistan government is steadfastly pursuing a policy of balanced development, aiming to place the province on a sustained trajectory of progress and economic stability.
During a high-level consultative meeting on the forthcoming National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, the Provincial Minister for Finance and Minerals highlighted the necessity of a detailed and well-organized strategy to secure Balochistan’s equitable share, taking into consideration the province’s developmental challenges and increasing financial needs.
The meeting brought together NFC Member Balochistan Mehfooz Ali Khan, Secretary Finance Lal Jan Jaffar, and other senior officials, with several participants joining via video link for a sub-committee session of the NFC. Key discussions centered on the country’s domestic and external debt profile, along with crafting a robust policy framework for repayment of loans obtained from the International Monetary Fund and other international sources.
Mir Shoaib Nosherwani underscored the critical need for fiscal discipline in the upcoming financial year, urging departments to curtail unnecessary expenditures and safeguard public resources. He stressed that prudent financial management combined with fair allocation of resources is essential for reinforcing Balochistan’s economic foundations and driving sustainable, long-term development.
The meeting reflects the government’s commitment to strategic planning, financial accountability, and policies designed to strengthen Balochistan’s economic position while addressing the province’s pressing development priorities.
