Lahore, February 19, 2026: Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has directed the provincial administration to tighten security measures across Punjab during Ramadan. Special emphasis has been placed on mosques, imambargahs, other places of worship, markets, bazaars, and public spaces. Additional security personnel have been deployed, while CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, and searchlights will ensure a foolproof security system.
The CM instructed rapid police patrols, snap checks, and intensified search operations around sensitive areas, including Friday and Tarawih congregations. Three-layer security plans with barriers and barbed wire will be implemented to protect public life and property. She emphasized that the safety of citizens remains a top priority during the holy month, and no negligence will be tolerated.
These measures reflect the government’s commitment to public safety, particularly in high-density areas, while ensuring uninterrupted religious observance during Ramadan.
