Lahore, February 19, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved significant reforms under the Punjab Public School Reorganization Program. Key initiatives include introducing a dress code for teachers, outsourcing cleaning services via Suthra Punjab, installing CCTV cameras, and implementing the School Improvement Card system.
Phase Four of school outsourcing was approved, introducing distance learning and audio-visual teaching for the first time. Across 344 schools, 42,614 students and 3,566 teachers will benefit from spoken classes, while school meals cover 1.137 million students in 13 districts. Infrastructure improvements include the repair of 5,345 classrooms, construction of over 2.7 million square feet of boundary walls, 5,067 toilets, and painting across 8,911 schools.
The CM highlighted that every child should access quality education in public schools, ensuring confidence and holistic development. She emphasized that improved school standards will encourage more parents to enroll children in government institutions.
