Quetta, February 20: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail emphasized the importance of promoting sports across the province, stating that Pakistan holds a proud position globally in squash, cricket, hockey, and snooker. He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of the Balochistan Fencing Association at the Governor House.
The Governor said all athletes are national assets and deserve institutional support. He noted that encouraging youth participation in sports can help steer them away from drugs and other social evils. Highlighting the presence of water sports and fencing talent in the province, he said Balochistan’s youth are highly capable but often face challenges due to limited facilities and opportunities.
He assured continued government support for organizing sports events and providing financial assistance to athletes. Mandokhail stressed that with proper infrastructure and encouragement, emerging players from Balochistan can shine at national and international levels, bringing pride to the province and the country.
