Grand Crackdown Launched Against Profiteering in Khuzdar Ahead of Ramazan

Khuzdar, February 21: The district administration has launched a grand operation against artificial price hikes in Khuzdar on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sasoli, aiming to provide relief to citizens during the holy month of Ramazan.
Assistant Commissioner Khuzdar Hafeezullah Kakar conducted a surprise visit to Khuzdar Bazar, inspecting the prices of essential commodities, hygiene conditions, and overall quality of goods being sold. The action followed public complaints regarding overpricing and violations of the officially notified rate list.
During the operation, three butchers were arrested and shifted to police custody for violating the government price list. Dozens of shopkeepers were fined heavily for failing to display official rate lists and for overcharging customers. Vendors found selling substandard items or maintaining poor hygiene were issued final warnings.
“Those looting poor citizens during Ramazan deserve to be behind bars,” Assistant Commissioner Kakar stated, adding that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands or charge arbitrary prices.
The district administration has made it clear that the crackdown against profiteering and hoarding will continue throughout Ramazan. Citizens have been urged to report any instances of overcharging to the administration immediately.
