IG Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has directed all range DIGs, SSPs and SPs in his message to all ranges of the province for security arrangements for Taraweeh prayers in the month of Ramadan.

Quetta, 21Feb 2026” Considering the current law and order situation during Taraweeh prayers in the holy month of Ramadan, especially large gatherings at mosques and other places of worship, comprehensive security and effective traffic arrangements should be made effective while remaining vigilant and ensuring that their subordinates perform their assigned duties with responsibility and professionalism. He has directed that appropriate deployment should be ensured wherever necessary at the entrance and exit routes, parking areas, premises and open spaces around sensitive mosques. In addition, regular patrols should be made routine before, during and after Taraweeh prayers to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents. The officers should personally monitor the security arrangements and ensure security measures at mosques, imambarghs, Eidgah’s, places of worship of minorities, and private Taraweeh and Fajr congregational places under their supervision. He said that joint security arrangements will be made at internal and external locations, in collaboration with local volunteers. While making proper checking and screening of participants at sensitive locations, parking arrangements should be made at a safe distance from the main
congregational areas, and close contact should be maintained with the district administration, religious leaders, and representatives of local traders. As per the existing security plan, security and patrolling personnel should be alert by using bulletproof jackets and helmets. Under the comprehensive traffic management plan and implemented, choke points, alternative routes and designated parking areas should be identified so that there is no hindrance in the arrangements for smooth movement of vehicles before Iftar and Taraweeh. He directed that according to the security plan, the entire force should be fully alert to prevent street crime and other crimes while breaking its fast during Iftar and Sehri inside police stations and other police institutions.
