Peshawar, February 21, 2026: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi strongly condemned the attack on a security forces convoy in Bannu, allegedly carried out by Indian-backed militants.
The Governor commended the professional skill and bravery of the security forces for eliminating five attackers and preventing major damage in Bannu city through timely action.
He paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Shehzad Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah, who embraced martyrdom during the attack, stating that Lieutenant Colonel Faraz demonstrated courageous leadership in thwarting the assault.
Governor Kundi expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, adding that such cowardly acts cannot weaken the nation’s resolve against terrorism. He reaffirmed that the bravery and firm determination of the security forces in combating terrorism remain commendable and unwavering.
