Loralai, February 21: Police have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in the murder case of Levies Sub-Inspector Khairuddin Hamzazai during a targeted operation in the Loralai range.
The arrest was carried out on the directives of DIG Police Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh and under the supervision of SDPO Karim Mandokhail. Teams from Mara Tangi and Zara Police Stations conducted the operation, successfully apprehending the accused, Muhammad Jan, son of Sher Khan, of the Hamzazai tribe and a resident of Bard.
According to police officials, the operation was led by SHO Mara Tangi Noor Muhammad and SHO Zara Muhammad Yousaf. The suspect, who had been declared a proclaimed offender, was taken into custody for legal proceedings. He is nominated in FIR No. 29/2022 under sections 324, 353, 186, 427, 147, 148, 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Police authorities stated that further investigation is underway to trace and arrest other possible accomplices involved in the case. The successful operation has been appreciated by the local administration and residents, who termed it a positive step toward maintaining law and order in the area.
DIG Junaid Ahmed Shaikh urged the public to promptly report any suspicious activity to the police to help ensure peace and eliminate criminal elements from the region.
