QUETTA Feb 22: A suspected criminal was apprehended in injured condition after an exchange of fire with Hazara Town police near Link Shahwani Road, officials confirmed on Saturday.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded during routine checking in the area when officers signaled a group of motorcyclists to stop. Instead of complying, the suspects allegedly resorted to firing at the police team. The police responded promptly, and during the ensuing gunfire, one suspect identified as Nasir, son of Allah Noor, sustained injuries and was taken into custody.
During the arrest, police recovered a pistol along with ammunition and a motorcycle reported to have been snatched, which was found in the possession of the detained suspect.
Officials reiterated their commitment to continuing operations against criminal elements, emphasizing that all necessary steps are being undertaken to safeguard citizens and maintain law and order in the city.
