Peshawar, February 22, 2026: Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met Iranian Consul General Ali Banafsha Khah during an Iftar dinner at Governor House in Peshawar. The Iranian official extended a formal invitation to Governor Kundi for the upcoming Pakistan-Iran Trade and Investment Council Pavilion scheduled in Tehran from April 17 to 20, 2026.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the strengthening of Pakistan-Iran friendly relations and the current regional situation. Governor Kundi highlighted the strategic importance of the two neighboring Islamic countries and emphasized the need to jointly promote trade, cultural exchanges, and regional peace. He stressed that both nations must unite to counter hostile conspiracies threatening the region.
The Iranian Consul General reaffirmed the cultural and fraternal bonds between the peoples of Iran and Pakistan, emphasizing mutual cooperation and goodwill. This engagement underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral cooperation and maintain stability in South and Central Asia.
