Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand)
In a significant step towards promoting women empowerment through education, the Thar Education Alliance, with the support of the Malala Fund, organized a one-day capacity building training workshop at a local hotel in Sanghar. The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by girls in accessing education and to foster community-driven solutions for change.
Renowned master trainers Muiz and Pratab Shewani conducted the training sessions, focusing on key topics such as girls’ right to education, parental involvement, policy awareness, and breaking social barriers. Special emphasis was placed on strategies to help out-of-school girls return to the classroom.
The workshop brought together teachers, parents, civil society representatives, education officials, and social activists. Discussions highlighted that girls’ education is not only a personal right but a foundation for collective social progress. Speakers stressed that inclusive community participation—especially from parents, teachers, and local leaders—is vital to creating sustainable educational opportunities for girls.
Prominent figures attending the event included senior journalist and columnist Amir Bux Bhurdi, education advocate Nadir Bhurdi, academic and social activist Abdul Majeed Mangrio, human rights lawyer Advocate Azeem Ronjho, head of Aurat Foundation Aslam Memon, political leader Salma Qureshi, and a group of youth working on digital campaigns for girls’ education.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for girls’ rights, raising awareness within their communities, and supporting efforts to enroll out-of-school girls. The event concluded with a strong message: empowering girls through education is essential to building a just, prosperous, and inclusive society.
