MEDICAL PROFESSION DEMANDS CONTINUOUS LEARNING AND ENHANCEMENT OF KNOWLEDGE

Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Prof. Farooq Afzal has stated that there is no defined limit to perfection in the medical profession. It is a field that demands continuous learning and the constant enhancement of knowledge. Therefore, it is the responsibility of experienced senior medical professionals to pass on their knowledge and experience to young doctors, as teachers serve as role models for the younger generation. We must learn from one another to discover better ways to treat suffering humanity.

Medical science has advanced significantly over time, and the use of modern medical equipment in the field of surgery has made even complex operations easier. However, it is essential for young doctor-surgeons to focus especially on the use of modern technology and specialization so that they can not only bring honor to their profession but also prove themselves through their service to humanity.

He expressed these views while addressing participants of the Grand Clinical Lecture organized by Ameer-ud-Din Medical College. The chief guest of the event was Prof. Mehmood Shaukat, former Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College and Jinnah Hospital.

Prof. Mehmood Shaukat said that medical education is the foundation of any healthy society. In today’s era, where there is rapid development in the field of medicine, it has become inevitable to align the education system with modern standards. A culture of research and feedback must be promoted, and students should be provided with research opportunities so they can progress in both knowledge and practical application.

During the Grand Clinical Lecture, medical experts highlighted various aspects of medical education, including surgical procedures. Topics discussed included improvement in teaching skills, student training, effective use of technology in teaching, knowledge exchange, professional development, and strengthening collaboration and communication among medical professionals.

The event was attended by MS General Hospital Prof. Faryad Hussain, Prof. Amna Ahsan Cheema, Prof. Amna Khanum, Prof. Shandana Tariq, Prof. Nighat Haroon, Prof. Muhammad Haroon, Prof. Kareem Ullah, Dr. Hassan Suleman, Dr. Muhammad Muzammil, Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Dr. Nadia Arshad, Prof. Ibad-ur-Rehman, Dr. Abdul Aziz, and Dr. Shabbir Chaudhry, along with numerous medical professionals, teachers, and students.
