Deadline for Security Number Plates for Vehicles in Sindh Extended to October 31

Islamabad, August 4, 2025 : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended the deadline for vehicle owners in Sindh to obtain security number plates until October 31, following a briefing on provincial affairs. The previous deadline was August 14. The announcement came after a meeting with Sindh Assembly Chief Whip and Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Mukesh Kumar Chawla at the Sindh Assembly in Karachi.

Chawla briefed the chairman on the legislative assembly’s activities, including the attendance and participation of PPP members. He also highlighted the seizure of illegal substances worth seven billion rupees by the Sindh Narcotics Department.

The minister also apprised Bhutto Zardari of the ongoing efforts to implement security number plates as part of the Sindh Safe City Project. He expressed hope that these new plates would strengthen provincial security. The deadline extension was granted on the chairman’s instructions to ease the burden on the public.
