Message of Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Youm-e-Istehsal

August 5, 2019, is the darkest day in history when India forcibly occupied the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir and attempted to alter its status through unconstitutional means.

This action by India cannot suppress the struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir nor deprive them of their right to self-determination. This is a right that has been granted to them by the United Nations and its Security Council.

The oppression and atrocities being carried out by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and the bloodshed of innocent Kashmiris, continue to fuel and energize their freedom movement.

Pakistan stands firmly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and fully supports their right to self-determination.

We firmly believe that, Insha Allah , the dawn of freedom will rise for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
