SPECIAL REPORT
MUZAFFARABAD. Aug 5, : Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq said that a new domicile law has been introduced in occupied Kashmir to change the demographic balance. Today, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, Pakistanis, and Kashmiris living across the globe are observing Black Day. The Prime Minister said that this day commemorates the Indian government’s revocation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in 2019, which he attributed to the Hindutva agenda.

He compared the situation to the alleged increasing persecution of minorities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and Dalits across India, claiming it was part of a plan to create a purely Hindu nation. He further alleged that India is attempting to turn the Muslim majority in occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a minority.

Prime Minister Haq condemned the presence of over 900,000 Indian forces, accusing them of depriving Kashmiris of fundamental rights, including the rights to life, assembly, freedom of expression, property, and other freedoms. He claimed that Hurriyat leaders, rights activists, and journalists are being illegally detained, youth are being killed in fake encounters, and restrictions are imposed on reporting human rights violations by Indian authorities in media and online platforms.

He criticized India’s new domicile law, alleging it aimed at demographic change and harming Kashmiri culture. He stated that these activities violate the UN Charter, international covenants, and human rights treaties. He emphasized the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and accused India of forcibly occupying a large part. He accused India of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, saying it violated the Geneva Conventions.

Prime Minister Haq said India’s 2019 actions violated UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir, specifically Resolutions 91 (1951) and 122 (1957). He insisted that India’s occupation and actions cannot change the disputed status of Kashmir, which has existed in the UN for seven decades. He urged the international community to pressure India to implement relevant UN resolutions and grant Kashmiris the right to self-determination. He praised the resilience of the people of occupied Kashmir despite the atrocities and reaffirmed their commitment to self-determination. He thanked the countries, organizations, activists, and media that have highlighted India’s alleged actions and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
