GAWDAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamood-ur-Rahman has directed strict action against absentee doctors and health staff during a meeting of the District Health Committee held to review healthcare services across Gwadar.
The session was attended by Additional DC General Dr. Abdul Shakoor, District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Latif Dashti, MS Teaching Hospital Dr. Hafeez Baloch, XEN KESCO Operations Hussain Bakhsh Pecho, SDO B&R Masood Baloch, officials of the Finance Department, PPHI representatives, and other concerned officers.
Key issues discussed included the availability of medicines, performance of newly established Basic Health Units (BHUs), and challenges faced by healthcare facilities.
The DC warned that chronic absenteeism will not be tolerated, and cases may be referred to higher authorities for possible termination.
The committee also reviewed repair and maintenance projects at Village Health Centers (VHCs) and Rural Health Centers (RHCs). The DC ordered strict adherence to quality standards and timely completion of work.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, DC Hamood-ur-Rahman said accessible and efficient healthcare services remain the administration’s top priority and warned that negligence will face firm action.
