Pakistan Navy Launches Nationwide Mangrove Plantation Campaign 2025

Karachi, September 28, 2025 – The Pakistan Navy has officially launched its Mangrove Plantation Campaign 2025 at Bin Qasim, Gharo, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability and coastal protection.

The ceremony was graced by Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, who planted a sapling as the Chief Guest. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Forest Departments of Sindh and Balochistan and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Speaking at the event, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin highlighted the critical role of mangroves in combating climate change, safeguarding biodiversity, and protecting coastal communities from erosion and natural disasters. He also commended the collaborative efforts of partner organizations and emphasized the Navy’s mission to raise environmental awareness and promote coastal resilience.

The Pakistan Navy has already planted 8.7 million mangroves from Shah Bandar to Jiwani under its environmental protection programme. These large-scale plantation drives not only protect marine ecosystems but also generate employment opportunities for local communities.

With marine conservation and sustainable development as key priorities, the Pakistan Navy reaffirmed that this campaign is a testament to its unwavering commitment to preserving Pakistan’s coastal environment for future generations.
