Oslo, Norway, September 29 – Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Mrs. Farzhana Naek, met with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Norway, Mrs. Sadia Altaf Qazi, in Oslo.

During the meeting, Mrs. Naek highlighted PRCS’s auxiliary role to the Government of Pakistan and reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly those affected by the recent devastating floods across Pakistan.

She emphasized that as global humanitarian funding continues to shrink, the Pakistani diaspora can play a critical role in assisting flood-affected populations. Engaging the Pakistani community in Norway, she noted, would not only help provide immediate relief but also strengthen PRCS’s long-term recovery efforts. She underlined PRCS’s nationwide outreach, with seven provincial branches, 62 district branches, and a network of 1.7 million volunteers.

Ambassador Sadia Altaf Qazi commended PRCS for its humanitarian efforts and resilience-building initiatives across Pakistan. She recognized the Society’s role in supporting vulnerable communities during emergencies and discussed opportunities for mobilizing funding through the Pakistani diaspora in Norway as well as partnerships with local organizations.
