Quetta, Sep.29,
A resolution was moved in the Balochistan Assembly on Monday to grant subdivision Mand in Tehsil Tamp, District Kech, the status of a new district.

The resolution, jointly presented by government members including MNA Majeed, highlighted that Kech has become the most populous district of Balochistan with nearly 1.4 million residents. It noted that Mand meets all criteria for a new district, stretching geographically from Panjgur to the Iran border.

Due to the 150-kilometer distance from Turbat, the existing district headquarters, people face severe challenges in accessing education, healthcare, infrastructure, and law and order. The resolution emphasized that the creation of Mand as a district would improve administrative affairs and bring essential services to the people’s doorstep.
