Cracks Down on Drug Traffickers Nationwide, Targets Educational Institutions

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out an extensive crackdown on drug trafficking across Pakistan, focusing on areas around educational institutions and major cities. During six operations, nine suspects, including one Afghan national, were arrested and 22.436 kilograms of drugs worth over 24 lakh PKR were seized.

In Islamabad, authorities recovered 780 grams of hashish from a vehicle near a university and arrested two suspects. Similarly, near a university in Hyderabad, 3 kilograms of hashish were recovered from the accused. Investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were selling drugs to students.

In inter-provincial operations, ANF seized 6 kilograms of hashish from a van near Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, and 9.6 kilograms of hashish along with 2 kilograms of ice from a vehicle near Kot Abdul Malik Toll Plaza, Sheikhupura, arresting two suspects.

Domestic operations also yielded results, with 1.020 kilograms of hashish recovered near Singer Chorangi, Karachi, including from an Afghan national, and 36 grams of cocaine seized from a suspect on Ring Road, Peshawar.

All cases have been registered under the CNS Act 1997, and investigations are ongoing, confirmed an ANF spokesperson.
