Quetta, September 30, 2025 — Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the recent terrorist blast in Quetta, declaring that cowardly attacks by anti-state elements will never succeed in undermining the resolve of the people of Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new block and a state-of-the-art smart auditorium at Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt, named in honor of martyred Professor Nazma Talib, the Chief Minister said that the sacrifices of martyrs will never go in vain. He emphasized that the state belongs to all Pakistanis and its protection is a shared responsibility.
Bugti said terrorists are attempting to shut down educational and health institutions, but the courage and determination of Balochistan’s youth — particularly young women — is a source of pride for the entire nation. He urged students and youth to give a firm reply to anti-Pakistan propaganda with reason and action.
Referring to the Quetta blast, the Chief Minister stated that security forces responded promptly and sent the terrorists “to hell,” earning the gratitude of the entire nation. “Forces’ sacrifices and the cooperation of citizens remain our greatest strength in the fight against terrorism,” he said.
Bugti also highlighted the success of ongoing operations in districts such as Zhob and Ziarat, noting that the backbone of terrorist networks has been broken. He announced that Serena Chowk in Quetta will be renamed after Shaheed Justice Nawaz Marri as a tribute to his sacrifice.
Underscoring the government’s commitment to education, Bugti pledged to provide modern digital facilities and world-class infrastructure in colleges across Balochistan. He announced additional classrooms, fulfillment of the government’s promise to distribute laptops among female students, and opportunities for students to access online lectures from experts worldwide. He also awarded cash prizes of Rs. 50,000 each to students who performed in the ceremony and assured full state sponsorship for a talented student pursuing a career in music.
In a separate statement, CM Bugti reaffirmed that terrorists would never be allowed to achieve their nefarious designs. “The agenda of anti-state elements is only to harm innocent citizens and spread fear, but national unity and resilience will always defeat their sinister plans,” he said. He offered condolences to the families of martyrs, prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, and directed the administration to provide the best possible medical care.
