First Lady, Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari, issued an important message to women on the occasion of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

She emphasized that women should prioritize their health and take breast cancer seriously. Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari noted that one in every nine women in Pakistan is at risk of breast cancer, but early detection can raise the recovery rate up to 90%.

The First Lady advised women to perform self-examinations, undergo clinical check-ups after the age of 30, and get mammograms after the age of 40. She stressed consulting a doctor immediately in case of any unusual symptoms.

She highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle in reducing the risks of breast cancer and appreciated the services of doctors, nurses, volunteers, and organizations. She urged families and society to support women to ensure timely treatment.

Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari stated: “Protecting a mother, sister, or daughter is, in fact, safeguarding future generations.”
