Chief Secretary Balochistan Chairs Secretaries’ Committee Meeting, Reviews Key Governance Initiatives

Quetta, Oct.1 — Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, chaired a high-level Secretaries’ Committee meeting on Wednesday to review crucial administrative and governance matters, including the File Tracking System, IPMS, accelerated development projects, birth, death and marriage registration, cashless economy, and social media account activities.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Senior Member Board of Revenue Kambar Dashti, Additional Chairman CMIT Muhammad Ali Kakr, Additional Chief Secretary Interior Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, and all administrative secretaries.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan emphasized that public service is the primary duty of government officers. He urged officials to work sincerely and efficiently to address citizens’ issues, facilitate public access to services, and build trust in government.

He highlighted the importance of a cashless economy in promoting transparency, efficiency, and development, urging that all financial transactions in government and private sectors shift to digital systems for secure, cost-effective, and accessible services.

Regarding civil registration, he underscored that timely birth, death, and marriage registration is vital for protecting citizens’ rights and maintaining accurate government records. These registrations enable effective planning and service delivery, making them a civic responsibility.

The Chief Secretary also directed all secretaries to give special attention to the File Tracking System and promptly address public complaints registered on the Pakistan Citizen Portal. He concluded by emphasizing the timely completion of development projects as essential for the province’s progress.
