TURBAT, Oct 2, 2025: The University of Turbat organized an interactive session on modern scientific knowledge, artificial intelligence, and human creativity with renowned nuclear physicist, educationist, author, and former professor of Quaid-i-Azam University, Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy, as the keynote speaker.
Invited by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Gul Hasan, Dr. Hoodbhoy addressed faculty members and students, stressing that quality education, advanced research, and innovation are vital for the progress of any nation. He urged students to pursue their studies with dedication and passion, highlighting that education should not merely be seen as a means to secure employment but as a path to ignite curiosity, intelligence, and creativity.
During his lecture, Dr. Hoodbhoy shed light on diverse topics, including the internet, artificial intelligence, astrophysics, quantum computing, human creativity, and the role of rational thought. He emphasized that Pakistan’s youth possess immense talent and only require proper guidance and opportunities to excel and contribute effectively to the country’s prosperity and dignity.
The session also featured an engaging Q&A segment where Dr. Hoodbhoy provided detailed and insightful answers to questions raised by students and faculty members.
At the conclusion, Associate Professor Dr. Hanifur Rehman presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Hoodbhoy on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, thanking him for sharing his valuable experiences and knowledge.
Earlier, Dr. Hoodbhoy met with Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hasan in his chamber, where he was briefed on the university’s academic and research activities, infrastructure development, future plans, and existing challenges. Registrar Gungzar Baloch, Assistant Professor Jameel Ahmed Badini, Director Public Relations Ejaz Ahmed, and Chief Security Officer Shahid Essa were also present.
Later, Dr. Hoodbhoy visited various sections of the university, including the library, computer and chemistry laboratories, and classrooms, where he interacted directly with students.
