Quetta, October 2, 2025 (Staff Reporter):
The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has successfully concluded its special campaign against adulterated milk and substandard dairy products, which was conducted from September 10 to September 30 across Quetta and other districts of the province.

During the campaign, inspections were carried out at 288 milk shops and 256 milk-carrying vehicles in Quetta alone. A total of 83,173 liters of milk and thousands of kilograms of yogurt were sampled and tested on the spot through mobile laboratories.

Lab test results revealed widespread adulteration, mainly through excessive water and the use of milk powder. As part of enforcement measures, 4,785 liters of contaminated milk and 2,421 kilograms of yogurt were destroyed. Additionally, 11 shops were sealed, while 90 milk shops and 8 milk tankers were heavily fined for violations.

Provincial Minister for Food and Chairman BFA, Haji Noor Muhammad Dummar, reaffirmed that providing pure and safe food to the public remains a top priority of the Government of Balochistan. He stressed that no one would be allowed to play with public health and vowed that indiscriminate action against adulterators would continue.

He further highlighted that BFA teams are working round the clock to safeguard public health. “This campaign is proof of the government’s seriousness in ensuring the availability of quality and safe food items,” he said, urging citizens to cooperate with authorities by reporting suspicious and substandard food products.
